Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of CogRep. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Questions: admin@cogrep.com.
1. The service
CogRep provides study tools such as flashcards, spaced-repetition review, quizzes and related features. It is under active development and may change. The service is currently free; if paid features are added, these terms will be updated first.
2. Your account
You sign up with a username, password and a security question used for recovery. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and your security-question answer safe. We cannot recover an account if you lose both your password and your answer.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use CogRep for anything illegal, or upload illegal material (including child sexual abuse material, threats, or anything that breaks Swedish law);
- use bots, scripts, scraping or other automated tools to access the service, or attempt to overload, break into, or reverse-engineer it;
- upload content you don’t own or have permission to use, or that infringes others’ rights;
- upload other people’s personal data without a lawful basis or their consent;
- attempt to manipulate any AI feature into producing harmful, biased or illegal output;
- resell generated material or use CogRep as infrastructure for a commercial product without our written agreement. CogRep is for personal study.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the notes, cards and other content you create. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you. You are responsible for the content you add.
5. Our intellectual property
The CogRep name, logo and mascot, design, and software are ours and are protected. You may not copy, reuse, or use them without our written permission.
6. AI-generated content
Some optional features generate study material with AI. We make no guarantee of its completeness or accuracy and accept no liability for decisions you make based on it — always verify anything important.
7. Availability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties. We don’t guarantee uninterrupted availability and may carry out maintenance or experience downtime.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which permanently removes your data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or the law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version.
